Job Description : The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the guest rooms assigned. Previous cleaning experience as well as the ability to communicate to guests preferred. Requires a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to lift pull and push a moderate amount of weight. Duties will include, but not limited to: cleaning rooms and common areas, including bathrooms, toilets, and showers, changing linens, laundry, dusting, vacuuming and emptying trash, etc. Very physically demanding. Be prepared to stand, bend, and push a 50 lb/23 kg cart all day. Requires attention to detail, punctuality, and a great service attitude & team spirit. more information. Must be dependable, hard-working, friendly and be a very trustworthy and honest individual. You may not get the same days off as your friends. The work schedule can change. Your employer will provide meals during your work shift ONLY. Students are responsible for meals outside of regularly scheduled shifts. Employer guarantees a minimum of 32 hrs a week. You may have to wait up to 1 week to start working, pending drug test results and completion of paperwork.
English Level required : Upper Intermediate
Pay Rate (before taxes) : $10.00 per hour
Hours : Average 32 – 40 hours / week
Meals : Yes (included during your working shift only)
Interview : Employer review resume before interview
Possibility to find a second job in the area : YES , Students are advised not to take any second jobs until the firm schedule is established (first two weeks) After two weeks students can get a second job, just so it doesn’t interfere with primary job schedule.
Uniform : YES , Complimentary, must return it (Employer provides the shirt and pants ONLY. You MUST return your uniform in order to receive your final paycheck.)
Housing : YES
Housing assisted by : US Sponsor ($75.00 per week $25.50 – $75 depending on size of apartment and based on 5 students)
Housing Deposit : $200.00 send to Gentry prior to arrival (If students live at this location, they must contact Steve Swartz as soon as possible. He has limited availability and will need the deposit to hold the apartment in order to guarantee housing.)
Housing Refundable : YES , Deposit is refundable if the apartment is left clean and undamaged. The deposit will be given back within 30 days of moving out. NOTE: Security Deposit is how you hold a unit for your arrival. If you don’t arrive in St. Louis due to canceling or visa denial, this $200 is not refundable.
Transportation : Arrival date for housing will need to be discussed with Steve. Also, some locations are within walking distance of the housing and some will require you to take public transportation to get to work. Transportation costs $2.00 for a one way bus ticket.
