The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have risen the price of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In an area that has among the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one business is making the most of the growing pressure to to oil. It’s established the Middle East’s first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It’s showing lucrative too, currently their client-list includes McDonald’s.
