Job Description

Dining Room Attendant/Waitstaff: assisting servers and bussers. Duties include but are not limited to refilling waters, setting tables, replenishing linens and glassware, silverware, and dishes. Bussing tables also required. Participant will also work taking orders and serving food. General assistant to dining room and kitchen staff.

Groundskeeping: physical labor such as trash collection and disposal, lawn maintenance, washing windows, and some garden work on a team with American staff. Tasks vary depending on the day and weather. This position requires working outdoors for extended periods of time.

Housekeeping: cleaning guest bathrooms, making beds, removing guest linens, vacuuming, cleaning floors, showers, sinks, and toilets. Taking out trash, some cleaning of common areas and laundry duties will be required as well. Housekeeping requires participants to use cleaning chemicals. Laundry duties include, but are not limited to, laundering and folding hotel linens. Job requires following specific instructions on service, as well as a lot of physical activity including standing for long periods of time, heavy lifting, bending, kneeling and walking up and down stairs.

Kitchen Assistant: washing and reshelving dishware and glassware, emptying garbage, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down food service tables, cleaning appliances, chopping vegetables and assisting the cook. The kitchen area at times may have high humidity and temperatures. Previous experience in a kitchen preferred but not required. Participants must also follow all food and health codes.

Retail: making coffee, milk shakes, smoothies, cleaning front seating area and employee section. Duties also include keeping workspace clean, merchandising, inventory management, handling customer purchases, and handling cash. Job requires following specific instructions on service, as well as a lot of physical activity including standing for long periods of time.
