Job Description

Back of House Associate : Back of House Associate will train and potentially rotate through various positions within the kitchen area such as prep cook, dishwasher, and salad prep associate. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Loading and unloading dishwashing machine as demonstrated through training
• Washing specific items by hand (e.g. large pots and certain kitchen equipment)
• Storing clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately; removing garbage regularly
• Working well with others and at a quick pace
• Measuring ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
• Preparing cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
• Undertaking basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, boiling food, etc.
• Preparing simple dishes such as side salads, menu salads, etc.
• Ensuring all food and other items are stored properly.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash and other duties (following procedures on check-lists)
• Complying with nutrition and sanitation, and safety guidelines

Bakery Assistant : Bakery Assistant duties include but are not limited to:
• Making production bakery items using standardized recipes.
• Assisting in inventory control.
• Managing sanitation and cleanliness of bakery.
• Following directions of Pastry Chef and Baker.
• Being a team player and assists with other kitchen duties when needed.

Dishwasher : Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Loads and unloads dishwashing machine as demonstrated through training
• Washes specific items by hand (e.g. large pots and certain kitchen equipment)
• Stores clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
• Ensures that there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours
• Checks washing machine’s operation and promptly reports any technical/performance issues
• Removes garbage regularly
• Cleans and sanitizes the dishwashing area, including the walls and the floor
• Replacing cleaning agents in a prompt and safe manner
• Breaks down the machine and ensure it is properly cleaned
• Works well with others and at a quick pace
• Is a team player and assists with other kitchen duties when needed

Line Cook : Line cook duties include but are not limited to:
• Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Preparing food as instructed by kitchen managers
• Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Following the kitchen manager’s and/or assistant manager’s instructions
• Cleaning up station and properly storing leftover products
• Stocking inventory appropriately
• Ensuring that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Complying with sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintaining a positive and professional approach with coworkers
• Demonstrating the ability to correct/remake orders as required
• Reading tickets and screens accurately
• Being a team player and assists with other kitchen duties when needed

32-40 hours per week

Housing

$150 per person, per week.
Deposit Amount $150 cash

** Participant will live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with other participants. Participant will share a bedroom with up to 2 other participants. House includes a full kitchen, laundry facilities, a new front deck and a finished garage.

Transportation to work

Students can walk or ride a bike.
