Busser : Busser duties include, but are not limited to: clearing tables, taking dirty dishes to the dishwasher, setting empty tables and otherwise assisting the waitstaff. Responsibilities may also include bringing water and introductory foods (bread, etc.) to the table when guests first sit down. Primarily, a busser does all assistant activities including taking out the trash, shining cutlery, refilling water pitchers and restocking dinnerware and utensils. Bussers will also be asked to make coffee and tea. This position requires standing and lifting.
Dining Room Staff : Position includes Hostess and Food Runner responsibilities. Duties include, but are not limited to: greeting and seating guests in the restaurant, monitoring dining room for space, creating wait list, if necessary, assisting customers with requests and questions, running food from the kitchen to the table, clearing dishes, wiping tables, and performing general cleaning duties at the end of the work shift.
General cleaning and other duties may be assigned by supervisor as necessary. This position requires standing and lifting.
Gift shop attendant : Gift Shop attendant duties include, but are not limited to: assisting customers with requests and questions, taking payment for items customers wish to purchase, re-stocking supplies, pricing items, and cleaning up the shop (dust shelves and merchandise and vacuum). This position requires a strong understanding of U.S. currency, and the ability to work a computer based system and/or a credit card machine.
General cleaning and other duties may be assigned by supervisor as necessary. This position requires standing and lifting. This job also requires some lifting, moving of boxes and standing for long periods of time.
Housekeeping and Laundry : Position requires cleaning guest rooms and public areas of the hotel and greeting and responding to guest queries. Duties include, but are not limited to: cleaning guest bathrooms, making beds, removing guest linens, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning floors, showers, sinks, and toilets and cleaning windows (usually less frequently). Restocking bathroom amenities as well as beverages and food items in minibar, emptying and taking out trash, some cleaning of common areas, returning and restocking cleaning cart at end of shift and laundry duties will be required as well. Housekeeping requires participants to use cleaning chemicals. Laundry duties include, but are not limited to: laundering and folding hotel linens.
General cleaning and other duties may be assigned by the employer as necessary. Job requires following specific instructions on service, as well as a lot of physical activity including standing for long periods of time, heavy lifting, bending, kneeling and walking up and down stairs.
Kitchen Staff : Position includes dishwashing, and prep cook responsibilities. Duties include, but are not limited to; prep, organization and cleanliness of station and assisting the cook. Prep cook will prepare menu items to the specifications of the restaurant, such as chopping vegetables and all other necessary food items. When possible, prep cook will assist other stations by preparing food to order or work on prep or cleaning projects. Additional duties include washing and re-shelving soiled dishware and glassware, pots and pans, and stocking dishes and other items. May also include emptying garbage, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down food service tables, and cleaning appliances. The kitchen area will sometimes have high humidity and temperatures.
General cleaning, standing, and lifting will be required. Participant must be flexible to work within any of these positions based on skill level, English level, as determined by the supervisor. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor when needed.
Depending on business need, participant may be assigned to other departments within the restaurant. If there are duties involved in these other departments that participants are unable to perform, they should inform their manager/supervisor immediately. General cleaning upon completion of work shift is also required. This position requires long periods of standing, some lifting and bending.
Waitstaff : Waitstaff duties include but are not limited to: coordinating and communicating with front and back of the house personnel to provide a dining experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations. Requires the participant to: Observe diners to ensure that guests are satisfied with the food and service and to respond to additional requests, in a friendly, professional and timely manner. Educate guests about menu and specials, obtain check totals, and accept payment. Participant must have complete knowledge of all menu items, prices and preparation method. Requires the participant to assist bus person and host/hostess by clearing tables, ensuring station and table set-ups are complete and to perform various other side duties as assigned by restaurant manager.

**Participant will share an on-site dorm or cottage with other employees. Dorm includes toaster, microwave, and refrigerator. Housing does not include a kitchen or stove/oven, but hot plates can be made available upon request. Wi-fi included. Bicycles are available for a refundable $50 deposit if the bicycle is returned in working condition at the end of the program. Helmets are also available for a $25 refundable deposit upon return and inspection.
Transportation to work
Students can walk or ride a bike.
