Job Description
Lifeguard / Pool Operator :
This position reports to the lead guard, lifeguard supervisor, assistant water/theme park manager, maintenance director, aquatics director, general manager, and owners. The Lifeguard is responsible for monitoring the well-being of guests, ensuring their safety by preventing and responding to emergency situations both in and out of water. Should an emergency occur, lifeguards are responsible for taking quick and decisive action and providing the appropriate emergency care.
Specific duties may include but are not limited to any combination of the following:
– Ensuring guest safety and provide exceptional guest service.
– Standing/sitting in and out of water for long periods of time.
– Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies.
– Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.
– Inspect facility as required and report any unsafe conditions or equipment.
– Maintaining skills at a rescue-ready level at all times.
– Remain alert and attentive at all times.
– Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
– Maintain professional lifeguarding practices at all times.
– Keep the facilities and property clean and comfortable for guests.
– Female employees are expected to work even during menstruation.
– Report to work, in uniform, no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled shift
– Clock-in and out using property landline phone
– Ensure the safety of the facility patrons
– Enforce facility policies, rules, and regulations
– Monitor gate control including checking patron’s identification cards
– Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service sessions
– Respond to patron inquiries and concerns
– Complete the general care and cleaning of the facility and perform minor maintenance and repair of swimming pool equipment
– Inspect facility and report unsafe conditions and equipment to the supervisor
– Maintain daily records as outlined in the Log Book and complete daily reports
– Perform lifeguarding duties
– Manage daily pool operations including circulation system and water quality
– Complete incident/accident reports as needed
– Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or other Company designee
