Job Description

Conference Setup and Support The Conference Setup and Support Team Member is responsible for all conference set-ups and implements all requests from the Guest Relations & Services Director for any special or additional requirements needed by each conference group leader.
This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center. The Conference Setup and Services Team Member is primarily responsible for impeccable guest service to conference groups through precise set-ups for meeting room/ event spaces, professional and friendly communication, prompt follow through on requests, maintain a high level of service throughout guests’ stay, and meeting the standards of meeting room cleanliness and set-up detail defined by department manager.

Conference Set-Up and Service ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Exhibit superior guest service abilities through clear, professional and friendly interactions with all guests and staff
• Execute conference set-up orders accurately and in a time-sensitive manner and providing exceptional service to conference groups throughout their stay
• Maintain the cleanliness of meeting room/ event spaces along with all restrooms associated with those spaces.
• Possess stamina to work in the work environment described herein.
• Possesses Physical stamina for strenuous work load with the ability to lift chairs, tables, and stage pieces. Have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and get in & out of trucks frequently throughout the day
• Must be able to speak and write English.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others an diverse environment
• Ability to thrive in a work environment that is never the same day twice, be self-motivated and take pride in a job well done

Janitorial Essential Functions:
• Clean public lobbies and public areas in 6 guest lodge building
• Clean all guest facing public spaces as well as all program spaces and needed
• Must be able to take direction and work independently or as a team
• Efficiently clean all public areas on camp including the following tasks: vacuuming, dusting, wash windows, clean toilets, sinks, empty trash, mop and sweep floors, etc.
• Work with various types of cleaning chemicals
• Deliver items to guests in their accommodations when requested
• All other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as required
• Interact with guests in a welcoming and friendly manner
• Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• English Level Requirement: Good

Food Service Worker Food Service Workers is responsible for providing guests with a positive dining experience. Employees rotate daily through a variety of specific duties as described below.

The essential functions of the Food Service Worker position include:
• Assisting with meal preparation for YMCA guests
• Serving meals
• Washing dishes
• Cleaning kitchen and dining rooms
• Keeping meal service lines clean and fully stocked with food and supplies (plates, cups, etc.)
• Cleaning restrooms, including toilets

Other Functions / Requirements:
• Check and sell meal guest tickets at the “check stand”
• Operate cash register and balance cash box
• All other duties as assigned

* Participants will be assigned to handle and serve pork products.
* Participants will be using cleaning chemicals.
* Participants must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
* Food service workers also are usually involved in customer service to some extent and may also perform some cashier duties. Therefore, participants must have good English communication skills, excellent customer service skills, good math skills, and should be familiar with U.S. currency.
* During employment, participants are expected to meet certain standards of performance and conduct themselves as explained in the seasonal handbook.

Housekeeping Participants will work in the Housekeeping Department. Housekeeping duties include checking in with and meeting the expectations of the supervisors and guests.
Housekeeping Essential Functions / Requirements:
• Clean cabins and lodge rooms
• Clean lobbies and public areas
• Work on a crew with 3-5 coworkers
• Efficiently clean guest accommodations including the following tasks: clean fireplaces, vacuum and dust, strip linens and make beds, wash windows, clean toilets, sinks and showers, empty trash, mop and sweep floors, and clean ovens, etc.
• Work with various types of cleaning chemicals
• Complete maid service in required rooms
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Laundry Attendant Essential Functions / Requirements:
• Sort, fold, shrink-wrap, and stack laundry
• Load and empty washers and driers
• Operate washers and driers at proper time, temperature, and cycle settings
• Serve customers at the linen exchange door
• Follow safe practices while handling chemicals, biohazards, and machinery
• Move, replace, and connect laundry chemical drums using a wheel dolly
• Maintain and repair window coverings in guest accommodations as needed
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
*Please note: Laundry duties will make up less that 15% of position duties.

Lifeguard Lifeguard duties include but are not limited to guarding deep and shallow water areas, ensuring pool rules are followed, and keeping guests safe.
YMCA of the Rockies Lifeguards will explain safety rules to patrons, warn them about unsafe situations, and enforce policies on showers and proper attire. Lifeguards ensure the safety of patrons in the facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. You will play an instrumental role in maintaining facility cleanliness by inspecting swimming pool areas, locker rooms and restrooms. Lifeguards must maintain test-ready CPR/Lifeguarding/First Aid skills and will be required to attend regular trainings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assess situations swiftly and make judicious decisions regarding the safety of swimmers. Top candidates are excellent communicators, swift and safety-minded.
• Warn swimmers regarding unsafe situations.
• Responding to emergencies and rescue swimmers in danger of drowning.
• Preform first aid.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility
• Maintain records and reports
• Remain alert with no periods of inattentiveness.
• Observe all sections of assigned zones.
• Know and implement all safety procedures.
• Uphold and adhere to the policies of the YMCA of the Rockies and the Program Department.
• Know and adhere to pool policies and procedures.
• Use a variety of cleaning chemicals and follow proper cleaning procedures to clean the pool facility.
• Participate in all In-service trainings; be prepared, teachable and provide feedback when appropriate.
• Operate telephone, rescue equipment and cleaning equipment.
• Read and speak English fluently.
• Must be able to maintain all lifeguard skills and knowledge, or participate in remedial upon arrival.
• Other duties as assigned, including work as an attendant for other recreation facilities or programs of the Program Department.

**Participants will live in dormitory-type accommodations. The dormitory is co-ed, but each room will be gender specific. The dormitory has bedroom furniture, linens, and internet. There is a shared common area in the building which has a TV, microwave, and refrigerator that are available to the participants. There is a telephone which can be used only with a phone card. The participants must provide a phone card. The Human Resources department offers staff activities. Please see the Room and Board agreement at the back of this job offer for additional details. Weekly $160 payroll deduction covers rent, 3 meals per day (7 days per week), access to laundry facilities, and all utilities including internet. Cooking appliances are not allowed in the dorm rooms (e.g. hot plate, electric fryer, coffee maker, crock-pot, electric kettle, microwave, etc). Non-roommate visitors are not allowed in dorm rooms between 11 p.m. – 7 a.m. No alcohol or drugs are allowed in the housing or anywhere on the YMCA property. Any participants caught in possession of alcohol or drugs will lose their job. YMCA of the Rockies will conduct drug and alcohol testing for 1. Reasonable suspicion, 2. On the job injury, 3. YMCA vehicle accident, and 4. Random testing.
